This year, two board members of the German Shakespeare Society were accepted into the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz and into the Young Academy. DSG president Sibylle Baumbach became a member of the Academy of Sciences and Literature (https://www.adwmainz.de/aktivitaeten/aktuelles/details/fuenf-neue-mitglieder-in-die-akademie-der-wissenschaften-und-der-literatur-mainz-gewaehlt.html), and the head of the Shakespeare Library at the LMU Munich, Tim Sommer, became a member of the Young Academy (https://www.adwmainz.de/aktivitaeten/aktuelles/details/50-neue-mitglieder-fuer-die-junge-akademie-mainz-nachwuchsfoerderungsprogramm-startet-2026-in-die-dritte-runde.html). The Young Academy is dedicated to the promotion of young researchers of the Academy of Sciences and literature and offers their researchers, as well as their literature and music practicioners, opportunities to expand their interdisciplinary network.
