English-German study edition of Shakespeare’s plays
William Shakespeare’s plays are published by Stauffenburg-Verlag in an English-German study edition under the patronage of the German Shakespeare Society by Rüdiger Ahrens (Würzburg), Werner Brönnimann (Basel), Andreas Fischer (Zurich), Norbert Greiner (Hamburg). Academic Advisory Board: Ingeborg Boltz (Munich), Wilfrid Braun (Bochum), Balz Engler (Basel), Jennifer Janet Jermann (Basel).
The bilingual study edition is the first and only project of a complete scholarly edition of Shakespeare’s plays for readers in the German-speaking world. It makes Shakespeare’s work accessible according to the current state of scholarly knowledge, taking into account all the special information requirements and, with changing emphases from volume to volume, the interests of German-speaking readers.
