Shakespeare Seminar Online

Since 2003, the Shakespeare Seminar has been held in spring as part of the Shakespeare Days, offering established and younger Shakespeare researchers the opportunity for intensive academic exchange. The format of the seminar provides for short lectures in German or English, which – according to the speakers’ brief – should be “theses rather than exegeses”. The topic of the seminar relates to the respective theme of the Shakespeare Days themselves – but is defined more narrowly in order to provide a concrete basis for discussion.
In the MLA-listed journal Shakespeare Seminar Online, the contributions to the discussions are presented, often in a somewhat longer form. It regularly presents to the public the approaches that the seminar participants discuss at the conferences. It also offers younger academics the opportunity to publish their work.
